So, was the ceremony before the State Opening different today? Perhaps Black Rod should have just knocked on the door once and then be let in without question?

via Watch again I yesterday watched BBC Parliament's re-showing of the first televised opening of Parli (from 1958). Interesting comparisons and differences. The Commons end of things wasn't shown at all
