I'm actually about halfway through the Kalevela, and really should start reading it again soon... I've enjoyed reading it so far, there are some really good moments in it like "Ah, you see, the reason I am in the underworld is because I died! From burning!" "Then explain your remarkbly good skin!"
Yes, Children of Hurin is very inspired by the tale of Kullervo (in broad terms), but in detail - less so, I gather. Want me to lend you my copy?
