Hmm. But, what if there are Things that are merely masquerading as Stuff? How can you tell?

I tend to have the opposite problem: Stuff that's masquerading as Things.

Borealia! A northern lake-continent, surrounded by forest. People live underwater spread throughout the country, in lots of quite small settlements. Borealians are known throughout the world for their welcome of refugees and their vehement dislike of beer, and the peaceful way in which the English-speaking Borealians have co-existed with the indigenes throughout history.

I was thinking once that pub snack food ought to be sold as a menu of 'Things & Stuff'. Where things would be pitta breads, bowls of chips, tortilla chips, bits of chicken, etc., and stuff would be cheese, houmous, various sauces and the like. So you'd have a system where you get certain numbers of stuff & things for certain amounts of money, and you get to make up your own combinations.
