Arrgh that is my birthday and I was about to actually make a plan about going to a pub for drinks then!

The alternative to competing would be to ask very very nicely if I could throw my birthday party then at your place and invite a few people (not huge numbers) along too. I want a party but my place is not suitable for a party. Therefore it was going to be pub, but your place might be better. Maybe this is a very bad idea and feel free to say no!
